Lady Gaga didn't forget her pop star roots while taking on her first major film role in A Star Is Born. The singer apparently broke out into singing a snippet of "Bad Romance" on the set of the film with a crowd of extras as her audience. A video surfaced by Mashable shows Gaga on stage and in costume as her character Ally for what looks like the scene where she and Jackson Maine Bradley Cooper perform "Shallow" for the first time together. The audience cheers back, but Gaga isn't finished. As she waves to the viewers, she starts singing the chorus of "Bad Romance," her hit, which also earned her a Grammy for Best Dance Recording. Unfortunately, she doesn't do any of the iconic dance moves from the music video, but the crowd doesn't seem to care. They join Mother Monster in singing the tune anyway. If you look closely, you can see Bradley Cooper smiling in the background. Gaga emotionally tweeted about one of the wins ahead of the Grammy Awards ceremony.

Kelly Clarkson has performed a jaw-dropping, live rendition of one of the best-selling songs from last year. Before revealing which song she was going to sing — or which star she was doing a cover of — Kelly told the audience, "I know there's a lot of competition with artists in the industry, but there's a lot of us that dig each other and get inspired by each other. We're really different, but at the same time, we're really similar in the fact that she just loves music. She's the nicest human being ever. Her name is Lady Gaga I've been rooting for her for a while," she continued.
It was released through Interscope Records on September 27, as the lead single from the soundtrack to the musical romantic drama film, A Star Is Born. The song is heard three times throughout the film, most prominently during a sequence when Cooper's character Jackson Maine invites Gaga's character Ally to perform it onstage with him. Gaga wrote it from Ally's point of view with the self-aware lyrics asking each other if they are content being who they are. A rock power ballad , the song finds Gaga and Cooper trading verses and gradually moves toward the climactic final chorus with a vocal run by Gaga. The recording is interspersed with the sound of audience noise and applause. An accompanying music video was also released, showing both Gaga and Cooper's characters singing "Shallow" together onstage, interspersed with scenes from A Star Is Born. Commercially, the song topped the charts in more than twenty countries and reached the top ten elsewhere. Gaga collaborated with Mark Ronson , with whom she had produced her fifth studio album, Joanne , to develop the soundtrack for this version of the film A Star Is Born. Ally confesses she has written a song and sings it briefly for Jackson. Before the second verse Ally musters up the courage to go onstage to sing "Shallow", including belting the loud chorus to the large audience.
